New US Consul General Mr James Herman Visits ISF

We were honoured this week to receive a visit from the new US Consul general Mr James (Jim) Herman who assumed charge of the U.S. Consulate General in Frankfurt in August 2015. Mr.Herman is a career Foreign Service Officer, with a rank of Minister Counselor. He is the US Ambassador’s representative to the German states of Hessen, Rhineland-Palatinate, Baden-Württemberg, and Saarland. As such, he leads the largest U.S. consulate in the world. Mr Herman has a particular interest in education and we were delighted to learn that ISF was the first school he had visited since his arrival in Germany. Mr Herman met Mr. Slesser and toured ISF. Mr. Herman was keen to find out more about ISF and SABIS® and Mr Slesser presented him with a copy of James Tooley´s excellent book about SABIS®, “From Village School to Global Brand- Changing the World though Education”. Mr. Herman was most impressed with what he saw and learned and told Mr. Slesser that he would like to return to with some of his relatives, who are engaged in the field of education, to find out more about SABIS® and ISF. We look forward to welcoming him back to ISF!
