"This is with reference to my daughter [name withheld], a student of Grade 3 in your school. She wears her clothes, shoes etc as per her choice and we let her wear whatever outfit she feels comfortable with.  Yesterday a kind lady in your school (my daughter says she is a teacher but does not know her name) gave her a jacket and a pair of shoes.  Perhaps she felt that my daughter did not have sufficient cloths for the chilly day.  We highly appreciate the kind gesture of the lady and thank her for the same.  We would also like to assure her and the school that we did not send her to school with insufficient clothing because of our negligence. It was perhaps, because we could not understand the need being from a warm country (India) and staying mostly in heated environment (home, vehicle, office).  We have returned the jacket and shoes with our daughter.  I will be grateful if the same could be returned to the kind lady with our heartfelt thanks to her. I also have a small gift as a token of appreciation for her gesture."

I had to be careful with audience, I must sound confident but not arrogant, and I also have to be careful with choosing my words.  I believe it really helped me out because...I have been selected as Chairwoman of Freshman Class Committee!!!!!!!!!  I get to pick my own treasurer, managers, etc. I am so excited!  I realize that all the advice you gave me and all the work I had to do in 12th grade are tremendously helpful. They really really are. Thank you so much for your help again :)"
